Gard Bjørnstjerne Eidsvold has worked as an actor since 1988 and participated in nearly forty theatrical productions and fifty films in major and minor roles.
Eidsvold has been linked to Ibsen Theatre , Agder Theatre, Oslo Nye Teater , The Norwegian Theatre and the National Theatre from 1998 to 2009 . Eidsvold founded in 1996 Oslo Contemporary Theatre , which has produced six theatrical productions . Eidsvold won in 1998 Hedda Award for best performance with Yngve Sundvor for Hunger in a collaboration between the National Theatre and Oslo Contemporary Theatre .
Eidsvold is also a director, set designer and writer . He won Gullruten as Best Actor in 2010. Since 2005, Juni Dahr and Eidsvold traveled around Norway with barn version of the novel “Markeds grøde of Hamsun , dramatized and directed by Sundvor . The performance is played 120 times for the full set barns in the country. A new theater venue is created .
Eidsvold is currently producer and actor at the Statsteatret and plays Harald Hardrada in their first production, 1066 – The battle of Stamford Bridge. In the second production, 1349 – the plague, he plays innkeeper Svein .
